The ARMOR Project brings together a team of investigators from the Minneapolis VA Health Care System and University of Minnesota with expertise in the areas of resilience, cognitive neuroscience, experimental psychopathology, developmental psychology, longitudinal methods, advanced statistical modeling, and complementary/integrative medicine.

Phillip is a Doctoral Student at Saint Mary's University, Twin Cities, studying Counseling Psychology.  His interests are in the etiology and treatment of trauma, with a focus on military settings.  His hope is to use what he learns here and at SMU to better service military families, as his intention is to re-join the Air Force following the completion of his program.

Andrea Hitz, B.A., Recruitment and Retention Assistant

Andrea is a recent graduate from St. Catherine University with a B.A. in psychology and a minor in statistics. She hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and become a researcher. She is really interested in researching emotion in adolescent through emerging adult population

Liv Tomlinson, Recruitment and Retention Assistant

Liv is a senior at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and is studying psychology with a minor in sociology of law, criminology, and deviance. She is interested in the processes through which trauma and systemic prejudices affect disadvantaged populations, her main population of interest being people who are re-entering society after serving time in prison.

Heather is a senior at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities majoring in psychology and minoring in political science. She has research interests in criminology, psychopathology, and antisocial behavior. Heather hopes to attend the John Jay School of Criminal Justice to pursue a degree in forensic psychology.

Safa is a senior studying psychology at the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities. Her research interests include studying racial disparities within the healthcare system. In the future, Safa hopes to further her education through graduate school.

Harry Wegner, Recruitment and Retention Assistant

Harry is a junior studying psychology and philosophy at the University of Minnesota Twin-Cities. He's interested in research on schizophrenia and all things resilience with soldiers. Being a National Guard soldier himself, Harry has personal experience with being resilient through training while also experiencing others on both ends of the spectrum when it comes to coping with such a stressor. In the future, Harry would like to further his study in either resilience or schizophrenia and eventually become a counselor.

Annika is a junior psychology student minoring in integrative neuroscience. Academically, she is drawn to the psychology of individuals in repetitive high-stress environments. Currently, that interest leads her to both the ARMOR Project and University of Minnesota D1 athletes. In the future, Annika would like to go onto graduate school with the hopes of working with individuals in these types of environments.
